Blankets for Metro Moncton Homeless

Monique Gough is collecting blankets, pillows, pretty much anything you want to part with for the homeless shelters and those who live on the streets of Metro Moncton and surrounding areas through the YMCA Reconnect Program with John Fournier.    

It’s getting cold out and people need your help. Most of us can turn up the heat but some people don’t even have a place to heat. Let’s keep them warm as best we can.

DEADLINE: DEC 16 @ 7 PM -To be delivered Dec 17 or 18th depending amount of donations, will depend on what kind of truck we need.

BPW Fundraiser Dinner. Delta Hotel, Moncton, December 5th, 5:30-

Tickets are now available for sale to the general public and as corporate tables for the December 5th BPW Greater Moncton Meeting and Bursary Fund Raiser!  We would like to sell approximately 8 corporate tables (8 tickets per table) or 64 more tickets.   A corporate table is $280.00 and includes signage on the table and thanks in the evening’s powerpoint presentation.  Or you could get a group of your family and closest friends together for a fun night out with your own reserved table!

Please see details on the evening again below. Let’s fill the tables and maximize the results of our Silent Auction! We have great items this year!

Please give either Elaine (859-2349), Kim (533-8772), or Nancy (858-1886) a call with your ticket requests. We will deliver tickets and pick up money this week .  Also, you may drop off any silent auction items to me at Lounsburys, Main Street until Friday, November 30th.

December 8th - 1:00pm Sharp!

Join our peaceful march for a better climate on December 8th, leaving Moncton City Hall at 1:00pm with a short loop around Downtown and ending back at City Hall.

Demonstrations on climate change will be occurring on this day across cities in
78 Countries around the world as part of a Global Climate Campaign

Refreshments will be available after the march, and, Professor, Omer Chouinard, from the Master’s Program in Environmental Studies at the Université de Moncton will address the crowd.

 

Educational Climate Change Expo

Moncton City Hall Lobby - 11:00am - 3:00pm

Expo will focus on how climate change will affect this area as well as the newest and most effective action that you can take to ensure that your grandchildren inherit a healthy climate.

Marche publique

Le 8 décember Á 13h00 précisément

Joignez notre démonstration paisible dont le but est la sensibilisation au problème des changements climatiques, le 8 décembre 2007. Départ de l’Hôtel de Ville de Moncton. Un bref circuit au centre ville, et retour à l’Hôtel de Ville de Moncton.

Dans le cadre de la Campagne Globale sur le Réchauffement de la Planète, des démonstrations semblables à la nôtre auront lieu dans diverses villes de 78 pays, en ce même jour.

Un goûter va etre offert après la marche. Le Professeur Omer Chouinard, assigné au Programme de Maîtrise en environnement, Université de Moncton, prononcera alors une allocution.

 

Exposition portant sur les changements climatiques

À l’entrée de l’Hôtel de Ville,  11h00 à 15h00 

L’exposition mettra l’accent sur la façon dont les changements climatiques affecteront notre milieu ainsi que sur les moyens d’action que nous pouvons prendre dans le but d’assurer aux générations futures un climat sain
