Day 3 of the festival, Sunday May 4th, 2008, will consist of a Green Expo / Renewable Energy Trade Show at Bernice MacNaughton High School, St. George Blvd. from 11:00am - 5:00pm. The expo will feature:
- Over 40 exhibitors: Eco-Conservation Groups, Outdoor Activity Associations, Renewable Energy Companies, and more.
- Seminars: on Renewable Energy, Pesticide Free Landscaping, and Urban Gardening.
- 50 foot long diner-buffet - opens at 12:30pm.
- Organized activities for kids.
Head organizer, Olivier Weil explains “… that the festival in many ways is about transforming helplessness, indifference and anxiety into empowerment and motivation. People need to come together and hear less about problems and more about solutions.”
Brent Crowhurst, an engineer and expert on renewable energy with the Falls Brook Centre will be onsite at the festival’s expo to run a seminar and information kiosk about renewable energy. “People will have an opportunity to learn about how these technologies are being used on an individual and regional level. And with all this talk about uranium mining and a second nuclear power plant, New Brunswickers need to learn now more than ever about the dollars and cents of renewable energy.” explains Yvonne Devine, president of the New Brunswick Conservation Council, Southeast Chapter.
So set some time aside for the blue and green around you, and bring your friends and neighbours out on May 2, 3 and 4 to the Greater Moncton Earth Day Festival 2008.
